Mountain Lion

Has anyone downloaded Moutain Lion???
I tried to, but it has been stuck on "Downloading" for over a hour. I have a network monitor that indicates there is no activity on the network. I don't see any way to force it to start again.
A restart sorted it out. It showed as Paused (hadn't earlier) and I was able to continue the download and installation. Put it on a new volume and transferred from a Snow Leopard volume. So far a much less problematic upgrade than Lion.

I did not have to reinstall any program.I would make sure you have the latest version of EOS utility (2.4.10).

This has been the most trouble free system update ever. Everything just works with no problems. The only thing I had to update was the Mac part of Air Display an iPad app.
,
Not only was it easy, but before the install I was below 50G in free disk space. After the install, over 175G in free disk space. ????

Yes, I downloaded it yesterday and I regret doing it. Adobe Creative Suite CS6 Apps crash when launched. The problem apps are Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator and Fireworks. I use Dreamweaver all the time so this is a big issue for me. Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom work okay.

Documents in the cloud is worth 5 times the price of admission for me. And the implementation of notifications is excellent. Smooth upgrade. Too soon to know if everything is good but I'm of the initial opinion that this is one of their smoothest upgrades ever. Have not seen many complaints on the forums either which is a good sign.

Well as usual I couldn't wait and downloaded it. It's working perfectly with all my programs. Yes EOS utility works fine as does CS6 and everything else. When it installs it

has a folder with apps that are not comparable. So you instantly know what the problem is. So far so good.
Where is this folder of non-compatible apps?
It just appeared on the start up drive, a folder in same list as applications, library, user etc. Maybe you don't have any non-comparable apps.

Can't speak for your r1800, but I suspect that all will be well. I have an Epson r3000 and it works absolutely perfectly with no upgrades to the driver. I suspect that they did not mess with the underlying driver technology in Mountain Lion. They had already done that in Lion. Also, there is absolutely no reason all of your current HDs shouldn't work just fine. I'm not sure about network volumes, but even there I think no problems. This release appears to be a "finish up" of all the "features" they wanted in Lion but didn't have enough time. So all the infrastructure had already been done, and this just layers features on top of that.
-- can anyone point me to a site that will show if my epson R1800 and other HD s will work with the new Mt Lion. I asked at apple store this morning. And no one knew. I was in there to buy an apple tv
Thanks. In advance Katz

Only my opinion. It's worth what you paid for it. Your mileage may vary! ;-}

Check this article from TUAW on how to get your RSS button back in Safari.

So far I like Mountain Lion with one major exception. Apple have dropped support for RSS in both Safari and Mail, which is pretty annoying. I used to add feeds in Safari and then just read them as they arrived in Mail.

I installed Mountain Lion on an empty volume and transferred settings, etc. from a Snow Leopard volume. I'm keeping the Snow Leopard volume so I can go back and use anarchisms like Adobe GoLive.

What is the exact name of this folder? I can't find it, and I definitely have some incompatible apps.

...I too rely on Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator and Fireworks. I'm going to hold off install of ML until I call them.

The App store now recognizes that I have Apple apps that we're bought before the app store went live. In fact, the app store and "software update" have been completely merged.

I still don't understand how it works now...

Is there a special section in App Store for applications not from the store? did I miss it?

Not on my systems. I've purchased iWorks and Aperture in the boxed packages and both are installed but not recognized by the App Store. Is there some trick to making the Apple App store see my installed products?

Whatever they've done, it must be Mountain Lion specific, or rely on some update to the client (Mac) side that I have not yet installed. Or maybe it depends on having the same version of the application that is sold as a download.

I'm running Snow Leopard, with a boxed copy of iWork installed, and the Mac App Store shows no signs of recognizing that I've purchased any of the iWork applications.

It is specific to mountain lion. Remember, this only works for Apple programs. When you click on Software update in the Apple menu, you are now taken to the "update" page on the App store and you download updates from there.

But when I try to update Aperture for example, it says "Buy"...
