Time Lapse Remote?

Ive seen several people report that this does indeed work..

I bought one from ebay but i made sure it was an American seller so that it wouldn't take forever to get to me and it works phenomenal. And it only cost $20 shipped to boot.

I bought the very same model about four years ago for my A700, and it's still working fine. The only advancement since is that there is now a radio version available. It's extremely flexible and works 100% as you would want/expect/as it says.

I didn't buy this one, but I do have the Hahnel Giga T pro II. Not used it much, and it is a bit more pricey, but the nice thing about it is it doubles as a radio remote, with pretty good range (my IR remote sucks range wise, and i have to be in front of the camera, so is annoying for group pics and long tripod exposures). This does all the time lapse stuff, as well as providing a timer ticker for bulb exposures. While it's different to what you suggest, I bought it just before the A77 came out, so given it works with that and all (according to the website) all the older models, I'd be pretty surprised if the one described above didn't - I think the connector/signaling must be the same.
