Went on a walk to try and photograph some wildlife after only seeing and getting images of a woodpecker i thought id give a HDR image when i was walking back to the car.

Nice image, does not look over-processed...

Only sky looks a bit dull - have you though of adding a gradient colour shade?

have fun!

Hadnt thought about it but wiill give it ago, thanks for your comment i think the HDR effect might be overdone, but i have never done it before so still learning!!

HDR 'effect' is quite subjective, but yes, I would agree this is overdone!

ah, the cartoon hdr phase. Mine lasted about a week, now I just giggle when I see these. It will pass soon.

lol took me 5 minutes to do next time i will watch a tutorial before i try it again so it looks real not fake

Do yourself a favour. Try taking your HDR shots inside a large church with good light coming in through windows and some gloom in the corners. Then you'll discover what HDR is for.

Ill give it ago! like i said first tempt so the skills need to be learnt.

I understand that the levels of brightness and saturation are subjective, but are the glowing edges intentional?

I have seen many HDR images like this and I'm just curious.

Better, but still overdone.

Try these two versions for comparison. I've brought up some of the detail in the dark areas while toning them down...........

Can you upload the raw file? I want to give it a try if you don't mind.
