After an afternoon with the K-30 I still like it :)

I'm impressed by how quickly it responds and how well-placed the controls are for my hands and grip

Shutter noise is slightly higher than the K-01.

With the kit lens focusing is very quiet and fast.

I suspect focusing noise is more function of the lens than the K-30...

That is a gorgeous composition-- well done! I love shooting water lilies.

Cheers. Ernie

Great shot. I'm not sure if my favorite is the sheen of the lilly pads or the shine from the water's meniscus.

Thanks

Great colors & textures... does the K30 feel good in the hands after a long period of holding it? trying to decide on that or K5 as price is the same now...

How good the K-30 feels in your hands depends on your habitual grip. If you are a right hand-gripper and don't have huge hands you'll find the K-30 is very comfortable - the rubberized material is slightly "grabby" feeling. I even like what I thought at first were silly fins on the front on either sides of the lens mount, but they work to give more of a positive grip.
