My first tear sheet

Shay,

Very cool indeed. Congratulation. :)
Just got the book delivered today. The front of the book has one
of those moving picture, plastic grid thingys, so it looks a little
odd when photographed.

It is printed on fairly cheap paper so the picture doesn't look too
hot, but still pretty cool :-)

excellent Shay. Your on your way.

I hope you dont mind me giving you a pointer here.....

what you may want to do is contact the publisher or the printer that printed the book and ask for a printed "proof to client". Proofs are usually printed on better quality paper and are full sheet and uncut. Or better yet, ask them to send you the design page prior to separation and conversion. That way there you can print your own high quality tear sheet for your portfolio.

Its always good to have a hard copy of the finished product but there is so much photo info lost when your pic is converted to CYMK for 4or6 color print process.

What i usually do is to always always always find out what the print process is and what stock they will be printing on. The quality of the stock alone can make you smile or frown.
