Question about G3 and lens adapter(LA-DC58B)

Yes it does. It does interfere somewhat with focus ability in low light. It also casts some shadow in flash shots in the lower right hand corner of the pic at wideangle.

I live in Norway and there are noone that import the lensmate over here.
IMO it is really too bad that Canon designed the adapter like this.
My plan was to have the adapter with a UV on all the time to protect the lens, and use some macrolenses from time to time.

My AF light is slightly affected by the lens adapter. The "dice" pattern is fully visible at about a meter from the camera. Under a meter, the lower part is cut out by the adapter.
I have mine on at all times with a UV filter. I don't want to know the repair cost for the lens.

You cannot buy the lensmate elsewhere than in USA. Just order it and pay via PayPal - no problem at all. I also did it from Germany. Susan Doel at lensmateonline is a nice one and she helps you out with any questions.

Make sure you don't confuse the Canon LA-DC58B with the Lensmate adapter (third party product). I guess Lensmate is available only through their site. The Canon adapter should be available where you bought your G3.
