Last night the sky was clear enough for a photo of the moon. This image turned out halfway decent..but not sure what settings would work best. What settings (ISO and EV) would work best? I shot this in P mode and slightly sharpened it.

This is really a very nice shot indeed. Keep up the good work and keep them coming. Thanks for sharing.

Nice moon-shot, Jim
I've taken this one 2 months ago. The moon wasn't that bright.
Settings: Manual; 147mm; 11.5; 1/250; ISO 125.

I do not know your camera to tell the settings, but it could be worth to try to apply slightly less exposure.

I've read that perhaps -1.5 to -2.0 EV works well with moon shots on cameras in Program mode, especially at full moon.

Good catch. -1 to -1.5 EV should capture more details. The moon is a very bright object. Could also try -2 EV as well.

I use about the same settings for my moon shots, but I don't stay up as late. I usually get good shots of the moon 10-20 degrees off the horizon - a llittle yellower and dimmer.
