D800E at BestBuy!

They told me I had ordered from them within the first half hour to an hour of preorder availability and no word on likely availability. There must be a situation with BH. Maybe Nikon decided having a duopoly between Amazon and BH would not be healthy for them and decided to help the predominantly brick and mortars?
 
I think I ordered in the first 3 hours of preorders and I have gotten no emails at all, my order on the website has no delivery date information at all. Last I called BB they were saying June 5th, but were also saying how amazed they were and how weird it was I was even able to place an order. So that's not encouraging.

That sounds like very good news! Unfortunately, my order status remains unchanged (6/7).

There's no date on my status either. I just have the 6/7 date form the original confirmation e-mail.

Well, that doesn't sound good. Maybe we'll get lucky . . . I'll know in nine more torturous days.
 
. . . saying my D800E is on the way to BB store #155. But wait for the email that says it's actually there ready for pickup.

Maybe there really is a camera.
 
Yes it is real. Mine came in last night but I am not interested in the D800E. I was looking for none E. I will sell mine or not accept it.
 
a lot of us are waiting for D800E. why would you order it - only to be returned.

pretty absurd in my opinion.

Early morning email said delivery date advanced to 06 June; late afternoon email said it's on the way to the store...
 
OP here, in Santa Fe NM. Ordered 6 AM MDT on May 18, just got my "in transit" email mid-morning today, and I had to retrieve it from the Postini spam filter (none of the previous emails had been trapped this way).
