Did a search but only found one passing mention of this. My Battery door moves slightly when it is closed. It's noticeable, because I put my thumb on it when taking pictures. Is this normal?

thanks

I have read that it was quite common on the 707, but not the 717. Sony tightened the battery door on the 717. I have owned two 717's (I returned one). Neither one had a loose battery door.

when I sent my 717 in for the HAF fix sony dented it and left it with a loose door which I consider "broken". that door needs to be tight to keep dust and moisture out. I won't accept it back with the door loose and if I were you I'd get it sent back and fixed. there should be NO movement.

A dent is bad but yes, they do loosen up over time. There is no rubber seal on it so don't expect it to keep moisture or dust even if it was tight.

I had the loose door problem with my 707. The way I fixed it was to place a small piece of velcrow on the battery and closed the door. I have the 717 and have not notice the loose door.
