Sorry Dean.......lost the meaning of this ?????

Was he intimidated by your K5 ......and perhaps the quality of photo you got with something half the size ??

The big FF Canikon's crack me up with their size. I mean, do they really have to be so big.

I had a 450d prior to my Pentax and some Canon film SLR's before that and i did like the size and feel of them, but a mate bought his Nikon D3 to work a few months ago........c r a z y big, he's a small bloke and it was half his size. Maybe he was trying to make up for his stature or wanted a gym work out without having to go. A 2/3 year old one of those would be feeling the heat from a K5 in terms of overall quality and portability was a no brainer.

My friend with a 500d felt intimidated with the size of his lens a Tamron 18-270, he said he needed one of these for bush walking LOL.

Dean,

I'm still really confused. Is that lens in the picture a Tamron 18-270? A lens that big must be a longer FL than 270. It looks like a Canon lens to me. Why would he be intimidated by his own lens?

I guess I'm totally misunderstanding what you're saying.

(Big)Man with Big Canon = Happy :)

Man with small Canon, upon seeing man with big Canon = Envious/ inadequate feeling :(

Man with Pentax = Laughing at both of them :P

I love the way this photo appears here before I expand it. I can just see a bit of the white lens. I open it, and BOOM, there's that big honkin' lens.

I sometimes venture out with a local shore bird photo club. Sometimes I wonder why we are not mistaken for a group of terrorist with shoulder launching missiles. My Tamron 400mm f4 is small compared to some of the monsters they bring along. Still the bigger the lens, the bigger the back ache at the end of the day. Other comparisons to size not withstanding. ;-)
