NEX-F3 looks like a winner

At 117mm x67mm x 42mm the F3 is only 3mm shorter than the NEX-7 (120mm), same height (67mm), and only 1mm thinner (43mm). I like the idea of the internal flash but...

There will be always haters around no matter what Sony has to offer.

At least we're not the targeted user.

Exactly what about Sony Nex F3 is "a winner", compared to Sony just reducing prices on the Nex C3 as its development costs are amortized? A bigger, heavier camera is a "winner", just because it has a built-in flash that no quality-minded person will ever use?

Maybe it is a winner, am simply interested in specifically what will stand out for most people besides its "newness".

I'm not a NEX user (DSLR and mFT), but Sony's use of the 5N's class-leading (my opinion) sensor/processor when it comes to DR and low-light capability in a $600 body certainly got my attention.

Funny thing is, the F3 seems more like an heir to the E-PL2 than the C3. Larger body, but not too large, and full features other than an EVF. Olympus users similarly faced a tough decision between the E-PL2's perhaps "just right" sized body with 3" LCD and flash and the E-PL3/E-PM1's very small bodies but too-small LCD and no flash.

Given the size of Sony's lenses, I think the F3's slightly larger body but with an improved sensor/on-board flash wasn't a bad decision on Sony's part.

updated sensor and processing engine...A plus...
Same price...

I have repeatedly found the presence of a always available built in flash to be a definitive asset.

Fill flash is in of itself a great way to enhance many (not all for sure) images.

Clear Image Zoom. A new asset.

Superior Auto Mode. A plus for newbies.

As far as I know, the F3 doesn't come with a charger anymore. That's why it costs less.

I have never used flash on my NEX-5n except for testing purposes :) There's no point artificializing the photos if you have the tools to shoot in natural light.

Here is the clear image zoom sample with explanation. Would you use it ? I sure wouldn't !

Try using fill flash.
You'll be surprised at how useful it can be. Shadows in faces etc...

A charger can be purchased.
The in camera charging is faster.

New sensor and new processing engine.

For me a bigger grip and built in flash are much more important than the size increase trade off.

The NEX-F3 is a complete and total turnoff.

It's suppose to be the next in line from the C3. I love my C3. I've owned it since it was released and there is no way on the planet that'll I'll buy the F3. It's not an upgrade.

The F3 is a new type of design intended lure the point-and-shooters. The built-in flash is an complete non-starter as is the extra weight. The slightly improved specs are less than compelling.

I'll wait for the 5N upgrade and buy then. Hopefully, Sony won't wreck that model and turn it into an upgraded Instamatic.

I see a built in flash, newer processing engine, larger grip etc. as an upgrade. You are free not to.

Where is the information that the sensor is new? That there is something different about the RAW files that come out of the new Sony F3 camera, the C3 successor? Well understood that the image processor is new, i.e. that the JPEG files and various trick JPEG modes are different.

...since you can add grip attachments/enhancer/leather half cases etc. if a camera is "too small". Is the Nikon V1 or Pentax Q for the worse because they are even smaller?

Don't understand how to shrink an unnecessarily large body, can think of many ways to bulk out an unnecessarily small one.
