My Antarctica Photo Gallery using my CP5700

Thanks for sharing those Jeff, some really great photos you have there.

I would like to know however, what weather conditions the 5700 was subjected to. There have been some great opportunities here lately (warsaw), however the temperature has been hovering between -10 and -15 for about a week and I'm a bit apprehentious about taking the camera out. I don't mind a shortened battery life, but I have no idea what the ultimate exposure temperature is and wether keeping it under my jacket when not in use will be sufficient protection.
Well, for several months I read and read all of your posts - bought
lots of Nikon accessories and finally headed out on my vacation to
Antarctica.

Thanks everyone for your ideas and suggestions. The Maha Powerbank
external battery pack rocks!

Please let me know what you think of my photos - I haven't done any
processing yet but hope to soon...

Jeff:

I am soooooooooooooo jealous!! What a great trip and what a collection of photographs you've assembled! There are some real keepers there, how proud you must be (and how proud we all are to see that the 'ole 5700 served you well :).

I particularly liked some of the Paradise and Nevo base photos. They are so sharp and realistic. Great job. You must have had warm gloves, which are not condusive to changing camera settings.

Jeff I just went through all your pictures and they are just GREAT. I especially like your picture topics and composition.

I am getting my 5700 this Friday (if UPS is on schedule). I do OK with a NikKormat SLR shooting with all manual setting but I am a little afraid of all the possible settings on the 5700. What suggestions do you have for me in getting started with the 5700.

Thanks
