The map module in LR4 simply shows "Map is Offline" and a grey world. My internet connection is fine and my firewall has LR clear for all access. Any thoughts?

No luck! At least it does not seem to be a unique problem. It's not the end of the world but it would be nice if Adobe could just fix these things without us having to go through hoops...

Try removing Flash and reinstalling the latest version.

Updated to latest Flash player - no change...
You may want to look at your Adobe Air installation. Take a look at this information.

Thanks - I now have Air 3.2 and the latest flash player but still LR will not connect to the internet...

Install the latest version of Adobe Flash. I had the same problem today. The Adobe flash page indicated that my flash was up to date and working, but I installed it again anyway. It solved the problem.
