Anyone use the Diamond Rio USB connection to UPLOAD your DIGICAM pics??

Instead of the slow serial connection, and buying a seperate USB SM reader, can I just use my Diamond Rio 500 to upload photos from my Olympus digicam? Since I already have the Rio and it interfaces from SM to PC using USB, it would be a SHAME if I could not RE-USE this interface, much like I reuse my 64MB SM card from Rio to Olympus.
 
I think Rio use different format from cameras. When I use Rio 300 for the first time, I have to reformat the sm card that I used in Fuji camera.
