What options do I have to use my speedlight with studio strobes?

The Tronix Mini is listed as compatible. But I listed the Bowens light as an example of an AC DC light assuming using it's own pack. Other than that the light has features I like as well, namely the side mounted control and compact size.

With a Vagabond though, I most likely would have given a different example, like an AB 800 or other straight AC mono. Perhaps the Elinchrom Dlite series for instance.

Well as you said you will find out ! Let us know.

I guess I'll find out! Sounds like digital monos are the ones with problems...I couldn't find anything specifically about the Bowens Gemini but the Paul Buff forums have people confirming Bowens 9000 and 15000's with the Vagabond

You can use your speedlight to trigger the big strobes via optical slave (many studio strobes have this built-in, but you can buy them cheap).
If you do this, be sure to put your speedlights into manual mode, otherwise the TTL or ETTL pre-flash will trigger the studio strobes before the actual camera exposure is made. Good luck and happy 2012.

I got the Tronix Explorer Mini and is happy with it. Anyone else tried it? How was yours so far?
