Post your Pets

Rosie moved in last November, she's a 'rescue' cat so we missed out on the cute kitten stage. She hasn't got odd eyes, her right-hand eye is in a bit of shadow from the foliage beside her. And aren't black pets tricky to photograph.(sorry about the washing line)

Minstrel is one of two guinea pigs, we've had g.pigs in the house for the last dozen years or so - always two. Minstrels' frieind hides a bit more and won't approach the camera so i don't have a decent pic' of him.

Incredible action shots!

Thanks for the tip Bill. Appreciate it. Maybe I can get one sharp dog action shot from this NEX 5N in pure manual with peaking.
You guys have some great shots in here! One trick you can do to get sharp images of fast moving pets is prefocus on a spot, set the 5n to high speed shutter (10 fps) and wait until the the subject is just about at the beginning of the colored peaking area, and hold the shutter release down (with the Leica APO 90 at f2.0, ISO 3200),

I’m glad you enjoyed Cody - he is a great subject! This is (obviously) summertime,

Really enjoyed the closeups but thought this one may be a little different because this was taken in the negev desert which is now blooming because of winter rain. My dog a Shih Tzu is now eleven years old and I call her my silent partner. have a nice weekend everyone. My gosh I apologise as only now when I uploaded I see I took it with the canon. I had both cameras with me as it is far away and thought I had taken it with my nex 5n. The zoom was done in picasa which has been updated. Sorry again.

Just got my NEX-5N and still getting used to it. Autofocus has been the most problematic for me so far, but I'm sure it's me, not the camera.

My dogs Powder and Ranger:

I've been using it to photograph adoptable cats at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, for their website. Considering our low-budget make-shift studio lighting, it's been doing great - much better than my Nikon D300.

All the cat and dog photos on our website are by volunteers and quality is all over the place (but we're trying!)
