Hello Timothy

The lighthouse gallery is looking good...........

I appreciate your not for profit gesture in collating this collection of lighthouses images by STF members, into a new gallery within your site.

As all rights of use remain those of the original artist / photographer may we see, a reminder to the public, a note within the gallery, or accompanying the images- to the effect of: all artists rights reserved. Thank you for this effort in advance.

to be careful not to compromise the waves too much. The photo isn't
a great one but least it's better than being trashed :)
I beg to differ. The content is so spectacular that it makes little difference that its a bit fuzzy in the details. In fact, I think that adds to it a bit. It is an awesome shot!

Here's some history ...

"One of the world's most famous lighthouses, this triumph of 18th century engineering was built on the treacherous Eddystone Rocks fourteen miles out at sea to the Southwest of Plymouth

When it was replaced by a larger lighthouse in 1882 Smeaton's Tower was moved stone by stone to its present site on the Hoe and has been Plymouth's most famous landmark ever since. The spectacular panoramic view extends from the city and Plymouth Sound to Dartmoor.

Eddystone was the first lighthouse to be built on a small rock in the open sea."

I have seen many lighthouse photo's here, and I would like to see a
post of them here in this string. I will then create a webpage of
lighthouse photogalleries for all to view! I just love the ocean
and lighthouses. Please show me yours
Please include Ocean it is on, Rhe City, and Country.

Adam : I would really like to enter the info people send about each lighthouse in the lighthouse photogallery, unfortunatly the software I am using is pretty good, but it wont let me enter that information unless I do it manually. But then the next time I update the gallery with new photo's , it deletes the info I put in manually. baaaaah!

Keep the lighthouse pictures comming! Would love to see as many country's represented here as possable!

Youngdo lighthouse, one of the wonderful highlights in Taejongdae park, with a height of 9.8 m is located at the southernmost tip of Taejongdae 54 meters above sea level. The lighthouse was built on December 1, 1906. The train of light splashing with 830,000 candle power three times per minute in interval of 18 seconds is used to guide the sailing ships. In particular, sirens and signals for wireless defense play an important role in keeping the Pusan city port safe on foggy days. On a clear day, you can even see 'Tsushima' island of Japan 56km away to the southeast.

Thanks Macro, its nice to see photos from abroad. I hope some more will show up. But please remember to only post photos taken with digital technology, specifically Sony.I did not realise it, but some of the pics on the post were not of digital format, and that was the whole purpose of the post. If there are anymore posts, it would be bice if the type of camera used for the photo could be included with the photo.
Hope there will be some more additions.............Thanks....Timothy

Timothy,

After reading your reply here, then rereading your original post... I don't see where you specified to post only "photos taken with digital technology, specifically Sony*.

The photo in my post was taken with digital technology , but not with a Sony camera. Sorry to muck up your thread, but perhaps you could post the requirements more clearly next time. I'm sure Phil can remove my post for you.

Regards.

In the origianl post I guess I assumed most pictures would be of digital format, and more than likely a Sony camera because it was in the Sony Talk Forum. This is why I did not mention it, but you are correct, perhaps I should have. It is no problem if they are not. Its just that I can obtain pictures of lighthouses anywhere and post a gallery of images. I think what made the whole post interesting was the fact that the pictures were all taken by the post members, and hopefully by a sony digital camera. Is really not any problem! That was half the thrill !please dont sweat it id it was not.
