GXR A16 pics - Shinjuku and northern Tokyo

I think these pics are a nice display of the A16 unit's prowess.

I was curious about this module. Thank you for posting samples. What is your opinion about how it handles on the Body?

Any evening shots?

It handles really well. The start-up time is a wee bit slower than the a12 50, but not much, and AF is noticeably faster. I also think low light performance has improved somewhat, so while the lens is slower than either previous ASP-C module, having to sometimes make an early jump up in ISO doesn't hurt as much as I thought it might.

And the new lens is even more quiet than either of the previous a12's, which is really cool. Basically only a slight buzz when you power it on or off and slight motor noises when zooming, but that's about it.

I love it so far. If it had some better was to manual focus it would be perfect, but as is I've never had a problem with the AF so maybe it isn't that necessary.

can you make some portraits in 50mm with max aperture for that setting?

I would like to see if the sensor can render some bokeh.

OK, I will. Actually I have and I know the bokeh is quite nice. Not as much as the A12 50mm, since it's a f 2.5 max and the A16 maxes at 4.8 at that range, but it's still decent.

Check the new pics I posted in my gallery. Many taken at the max focal distance (55.5mm) with the highest aperture.
