d7000 + 17-55mm + urban decay = searing art

LOL....your the best...
please dont leave DPR, i need my daily laugh and you are my new muse.
......whoever you are.

these are all pretty weird/awkward to me
and you need an assistant with a reflector for this type of work...

Well, he just seems to want to be ignored, so why bother? Let's ignore.

no comments please
i dont really care what you think
Anything goes in the name of 'art'
even if product of a brain 'f-art'...
Calls for a tribute to fit the artist's wit
a towering monument of solid 'sheet'

ps If you see someone without a smile on, give him one of yours... :)

Normally, I would ignore threads like this because I do not like being rude on the internet... there simply is not point. BUT you sir have no manners so here it is.

This photo fails for a number of reasons.

1) Could have been taken with anything. Any point & shoot and most good camera phones could have done this.

2) The photo has no real focus.

A) Could be the rust but there is too much going on.
B) Could be the graffiti but it is illegible thus annoying.
C) Shadows? Nah
D) The Object? WTH is it?
E) The plants growing on top of it- Again not tight enough.

3) Lighting is also unbalanced so I think it would look truly odd framed or mounted.

I could go on but I think you get my point (plus my dinner is ready). There is ART there... Yes, you need to go back and "SEE" it. As far as capturing it goes, your effort was a fail.

As your photo stands, the only way it can be art is- Print it and have Andy Warhol urinate on it.

work on your eye

What does your camera's specs have to do with your ability to create? The D7000 is a nice camera but it's not "all-that". It it does not make you a professional if you own one. There are guys with REAL PRO cameras like the D4 who are little more than hobbyists with fat wallets.

Like I said, this could have been taken with an iPhone.

but it's way better than a d300

Who cares? It does not make you a better photographer. It does not make your pictures automatically better than anything that comes out for the D300 forum. I've seen amazing work done from cameras as old as the D70 and old Canon D30.

I like this second shot--the lighting and colours. Kind of an abstract composition. Interesting.
