Seriously now gentlemen, and ladies. As a grown man I must say the above words, there has been more than enough talk about 5700. Who cares about 5700? Yes you perhaps do, but I think there is enough information on this board to seek answers to your question and thoughts, about the camera.

Who cares if you sold your 5700, bravo, perfecto. No, 5700 is not a bad camera, perhaps it is bad for you but for someone who wants to do something else with it, it is a perfect camera because it is more than good for that specific need. If 5700 is bad for you, then shut up, move on and look for a different camera that wont have the problem becuase of your specific work.

If you're not so happy with your pictures results at night or day, or in the bathroom, the you need to work it out. Photography takes confidence, a good eye, an artistic view and creativity, its not about the camera that you have, but its about your confidence and creativity and how far you are willing to go with it.

SHUT UP, there is NO flaws in 5700. You cant say that there are flaws, for someone else may consider those "flaws" advantages. And there have been more than enough 5700 "flaw" topics.

And please for gods sake dont start any "Oh god Nikon, we pray for you, please fix this problem" petitions, because half the world may not see them as problems.

Ok perhaps I am over taking this, but all I am trying to say is that I am seriously tired of seeing every second post have "5700" in it lol.

If you are so unhappy with you camera sell it, exchange it, or return it, and forget about it.

A bit overdone, don't you think, Mikhail? I don't complain about my 5700, or any of the other 5 digitals I have had (and I don't particularly like any of them). On the other hand, I am under the impression that the 5700, 4500 and 4300 are the basic Nikon non-SLR digitals now, with the 5700 at the top of the heap. I guess it isn't surprising to find a lot of talk about it.

There are a lot of posts that I don't find interesting, but maybe someone else does. I don't have to read them and, if no one responds to particular kinds of posts, they will stop. But they almost always do respond, sometimes in amazing profusion. Somebody is interested.

Seems fair enough to me -- so long as the posters are civil.

If you see it... just DON't read it! I can appreciate that you don't want to read all the "stuff" that you are not interested in - but some folks might want to read it. So, use the clues and just pass on to the next one.

Have a good New Year.

Is this guy serious? Is he actually saying that the 5700 is a perfect camera? No flaws? Well, gee whiz.. I better go buy some Nikon stock right away.. because I now have inside information that they have produced the perfect camera without a single flaw. Nikon is going to save a TON of money, because they can just get rid of their R & D department altogether, being that they developed the holy grail of cameras. :)

sarcastic rant over.

Mikhail, I looked at your profile and you've only been with the forum for 1 week. Geez, after you get to know me your might not like me, but at least give me/us more than a week....I noticed everytime you asked questions....including the one today on Photoshop...you immediately got answers.....so I would say that our only focus is not the 5700, in fact I find that as soon as someone asks a good question....people come out of the woodwork to help.

I didn't intend this to be dismissive, just asking for patience from you as we attempt to work through some of the challenges that we have. If you have any, ask and we'll all try to help.

Right you are, mate. F the 5700. How about that 4500, 5000, or 9xx? Those deserve a comment or two.

Sorry to be so disagreeable, gov'nr, but that manual focus graphic... Know what I mean, know what I mean?

I take the Tinkerbell approach. Let's all think Very Positive Thoughts and maybe a firmware upgrade will fly into our cameras. It's happened before.

The 5700 is like a beautiful girl who just doesn't understand wind surfing. To all the wind surfers, it's grounds to slap the forehead crying, "OH Noooooo!"

(Or make up your own metaphor...)

How can I trust the info in your books if you don't even know that you have to clap your hands too? Sheesh...

Would an analogy work as well?

Let's all not get too heated-up here.....no question, the 5700 has great features and performance....as well as "not so great" features and performance. Firmware coding for this device is not simple....but the good news is that it can be modified....with time and effort.

Let's hope a firmware update is coming soon to improve the low-contrast AF and external flash issues and even improve manual focus !!

It was said in jest to Peter. That wasn't obvious? How could a person be "heated up" talking about Tinkerbell? You have seen Peter Pan, right? If you think I was heated up, read some of my other posts and I think you'll see the difference.

M-Kay?

Peter,

I like to think of the 5700 as a beautiful high maintenance girl, who just doesn't know she's high maintenance!

Gotta go, I think my wife is yelling for me!

Yes yes I have indeed overtaken this a bit. But it just seems that 5700 was getting a lot of pointless arguing in.

Anyway thank you all for understanding me :).

Have a great New Year.
