I Picked up a P510 at Walmart today....charging the battery now.
I figure with their 15 day return policy, I would try it out.
They had two and the display unit. All black bodies.

I already love the feel of the nicely rubberized finger grip on the front of the body.
When I can I will post some pics.
The zoom and focus seems slow but deliberate.

The electronic viewfinder seems funky, but I have no experience with such things.
I will need to look into a screen protector for it.

pl post some images and your comments on IQ and IS at 24x and 35x so that it can be compared with FZ150 and SX40
 
Please, provide feedback about Image Stabilization.If possible post some tele ( 1000mm) samples.
 
I have noticed that at high magnification (full zoom) image stabilization is not as effective, i.e easier to get blurry shots. But it still works, just not as many sharp pics.
 
Wouldn't it be nice if dpreview would do a full review on this camera for us all to see?
 
I am seeing some purple fringing on shots with bright/dark interface like tree limbs against the sky....
 
I threw out the one with PF.

It was taken against the sky through tree branches in grey skies early morning type of light. I will try to get anohter one.
