"Sony: developing DSLTs only"

My eyes too are old technology. I rather like them that way.
Then your eyes should be more concerned about the actual output image and not the viewfinder which doesn't even represent what you will see in the final image
And a crude in camera Sony-decided jpg on a mini screen is any comparison to a raw-developped file on a calibrated 30" screen with top-class software like Capture1, DxO or Lightroom. You have to be joking.

I'm not saying the EVF is the final result, I'm saying if you can look past the viewfinder and at the actual result the SLT camera is just as good. People get too caught up with the viewfinder when it's really only used for composition and framing, that's it. If you actually use the viewfinder for what it's meant for, and not what technology it is you'd be surprised at the outcome

So many people look for things that they think are wrong with this camera ( the negative people )... While others look at it for all that it is... ( the positive people.. )

As far as the VF goes... for 50 years Ive used an OVF.. I used it for one thing.. to frame a shot... it had nothing what so ever to do with my settings, the film I chose or my composition...

The Fact that the OLED gives me more date to use before I squeeze the trigger, makes for much better results... If we had a viewable histogram in the OVF we could have saved alot of film.... People are grabbing at straws with this EVF issue...

It reminds me of so many people saying that removing the second top dial ( the exposure dial ) from the A700 would be a deal breaker for them.. when Sony made an ergonomic camera to replace the KM7D.. there were thousands of posts on this issue.. people just looking for the sky to fall on Sony if they removed that second top dial, because all the top cameras prior the time had two top dials... looking back it really was silly.... just like this issue... in ten years we wont even see an OVF.... and I will again look back at this time and laugh at all the post on this issue...

This is not the Sony Alpha forum, it's the Sony SLR Talk. And Sony no longer even makes DSLR. That Sony may go entirely E mount is as appropriate as any subject in a group about non-existant product. And very poor information about Sony's long term plans. Where will Sony be going in 5, 10, 20 years? For folks supporting a full interchangeable lens system these are important issues. Not things to have blind faith in.
Y'know Walt, if you keep emitting all this bad karma, pretty soon, the Little Men from Mars are gonna swoop down here, scoop you up, and take you with them. And then where will we be; with our favorite curmudgeon now on another planet?
what's with the future tense? sometimes i get the impression that he's already living on another planet ;)

Just so he knows that we're poking fun cause we like him (at least I do). Takes guts to be a contrarian, and Walt's got plenty. When I see a topic posted here, I wanna know "What's Walt's take on this?"

No that is not what you said and not what you meant.
