Enough of this insanity on this forum!
OK, I will sum it up.
1)If you need 36MP right now, please sell all your Canon glass to me CHEAP, and buy a D800. That is an awesome camera, and as long as you get the lenses you need, then fine. Take the $500 and that will balance any loss you may take selling your lenses.
2) If you have a lot of Canon glass, and access to even more FREE Canon glass, and need the 70-800 F4IS (as I do for travel) then keep your Canon.
3) NEITHER CAMERA HAS BEEN FULLY TESTED! PERIOD.
4)What we see from Nikon are low ISO RAW to JPG from a 36MP camera (some with no AA filter, etc).. THEY ARE GOING TO BE SHARP. If you need that, get the camera and shut up. If you do not, but still do not want Canon anymore, get a D4
5) Canon's JPGs SUCK. But the RAW files I have used from test shots, the 5DIII is slightly better then the 5DII all around. But for me, it's the AF and DUAL card slots, otherwise I would keep my 5DII.. I earn money shooting and can't lose a image to a bad card or AF. (hence my 1DIII I still use)
6) Will the new Canon AF work? WHO KNOWS???
7) Will the Nikon work? From what I know, it is NOT a new system, just a improvement. So most likely it will work like the D3s and a little more.
The whining, complaining and the trolling is HORRIBLE here.. UGH
