Early this Sunday morning, looked mildly spectacular
but the resulting shots were hard to process to get anyway
near what it really looked like.

I agree, shooting into the light in early morning with the sun low in the sky. You managed very well with the processing. Would be hard to get a "true look".

I like the colours as I am guessing that they are very eye-true, catching the mist and quiet streets sort of gives me an impression of an earlier era and if it were no for the modern cars and traffic lights it would be hard to think it was only last Sunday morning.

I think these are the best shots you've ever posted. I don't even care to pick at them from any sort of technical standpoint; they have such a feeling of time and place, an atmosphere... very very good indeed.

Whether they're your best or not, they are exellent in the way they capture the scene. They're the type of photos that I come back to to see again. They may have been difficult, but you've done a superb job.

Trafford,

something strange with these pics;

low iso
fast shutterspeeds
and yet strangly colored noise in the front?

Thanks for sharing
Thanks for looking and the comments, probably due to the
'trying to get it right' PP.

Thanks a lot Darrel,
the kind words are much appreciated.

Thank you Tom for the kind comments, glad you find
the pics of interest.

Thanks Midwest for the kind response, I am pleased
you found them so good.

Sure do, I think that a lot of good images are missed simply because everyone wants their own picture of the Taj Mahal, or the Grand Canyon. Great as they are they can become a cliche. And yet one's local place is not considered worth capturing. This is a historical photograph as well as your challenge to overcome difficult shooting conditions.

More goofy pictures takennby tourists of tourists standing in front of our local Big Banana tourist spectacle than other places around here, and it is hardly representative of such a pretty place.
