Liked the youtube video, what patience, although your windscreen wiper (?) intruded in one or two shots, it was still impressive. Liked the diagonal movement of the clouds at 1:11 mins, and now if you have all those frames 2.12mins worth, I wonder what a blast through Photoshop could do say with HDR or highlight(?) (or cropping the branches on the edges(?).

All in all very nice

Regards

That is very nice (expecially since this is your first try).

You took 999 photos for a 2:12 movie?
What is the delay in between each shot?
What software did you use to stictch it all together?

Once again, nice job.

Thanks man, it very relaxing really, no patience needed, I just sat back and watched it all happen, as since the wind was so strong that day, I was seeing the timelapse in fast motion. :)

And yeah, that's actually an umbrella, it was starting to rain, and although the body is weather sealed, the lens I had on wasn't!

And if I can figure out how to mass edit all the pictures, I would love to do that, as yes, I blew the highlights due to using auto exposure.

Thanks, I really want to do more of these. :)

No, I meant that each set was limited to 999, in this video there are something like 2200 pictures taken.
What is the delay in between each shot?
In the first two segments it was one shot every 2 seconds, then in the last segment one shot every second.

Looked up a tutorial, and I used quicktime pro to import the image stream, exported as .mov files, imported to iMovie, put them together, added music, then exported as 720p, uploaded to youtube!
Once again, nice job.
Oh, there'll be more. Subscribe if you want to get notified of each one. :D

oh, and the reason the clouds were moving in two different directions was because a strong warm front was being met with an equally strong cold front up there in the sky.

Like Spock would say: Fascinating !
The music sets the mood.
How long were you there to take this 2:12 video ?

Did you batch process the pictures before you stitched them together or send them directly to the video editing program ?

I think it was between 3:15 and 3:40. Not much time at all, as the wind was going so fast it definitely made for a quick timelapse!

Unfortunately I don't know how to batch process pictures. I'm not sure iPhoto does it, and I have no idea how to use lightroom (our school's lab computers have it, I don't).

If I could, I'd love to auto-HDR all of these pictures so the highlights aren't so blown. However, given that all these were taken in JPEG (for size reasons of course), I don't know how much flexibility I would have with the files.

I used my D300s time-lapse for the first time a couple months ago. It's a lot of fun, but I don't like taking that many exposures for a couple minutes of video on such an expensive camera so probably won't do too many of them.

And the fact that the D300s takes actual videos, kind of negates the need, no? :)

I have been fascinated with time lapse videos myself. Will probably try it one of these days.
