Lens Question

Is there a major difference in sharpness between the Sony 16/50 2.8 and the Zeiss 24/70 2.8? I have always wanted a Zeiss, but not sure if there is a $1,000 difference?...thoughts?

The main difference in price between those two is that they are similar effective focal length range, but one is for APS-C and the other for full frame 135 format (35mm sized sensor). You can of course use the Zeiss on APS-C, but some might not like the 24-70mm focal length, as it won't be very wide.

So what would you do? I want the sharp pictures possible...the Zeiss will still give me 36mm wide...I need an expert opinion...help!!!
