Also now in stock at Glazers in Seattle. Reserved in early Jan and got call today that they are in. Yep, paid for mine before letting the list know. Will pickup asap. Pumped!

I wonder why Amazon is getting their so much later than everyone else? Did they do something to get Canon upset?
 
I have not had great experience with Adorama in the past so far as you think something is in stock and its not. B&H does not have it so I find it really hard to believe Adorama has it. I'm just saying I'd would tell you all to call Adoramo tomorrow to be sure. I hope I am wrong, just my previous experience and that is why I never do any business with them, just B&H.
 
I'd appreciate it if you'd let us know how well B&H packaged it. I've complained about their slowly degrading shipping practices and I'd like to know if they've improved.
 
How can you tell it's in stock? I just see a note about this being a new item, and not available yet. Or maybe I'm just too late :p
 
I just checked and it still shows as available so my guess is you're looking at a cached version of their web page. While looking at it try pressing f5 or CTRL+F5 to reload the latest version of the web page.
 
I'm not sure what you mean by "available"... I can put it in my cart, and then it says:

Note: This is a new item. It is not available yet. We have no arrival date at this time.

FWIW, I also got that message when I put it in the cart. But I proceeded and completed the check out. I checked my order status about an hour after that and it said "pending". Earlier tonight I checked again and it said shipped!

I ordered around 8am Pacific time this morning.
 
Glazer's phoned me to say they had received them. Have no idea how many they received. Anyone in the Pacific NW knows they have great reputation.
 
It's available everywhere from the west to the east.I can name few venders which have them in stock: cruthfield,Kenmore,uniqueohotos.
Even Jr.com have them
So I don't know where is the miracle:)
 
And by the way...Most of these have outstanding CS and shipping rates less than BH and adorama..

Thats the thing with Adorama. They will charge your card and you'll have to wait who knows how long. At least B&H is diligent to give ETA's. Again, B&H is IMO the best gauge to what is in or not in stock with new releases like this. From my experience if B&H is out everyone is out. Calling in person is the only way to know 100%.
 
In my case, I called directly & confirmed that they had it in stock as a US warranted item. I ordered it with 2-day shipping ($26.) As of today, UPS says that they have it and will deliver it tomorrow.
 
Thanks for the info, loph. I just ordered from Crutchfield.com with follow-up phone call to confirm that my G1X will ship today overnight ($32 extra...regular ground shipping is free).

Amazon lost my order & B&H never notified me of anything. It's a mystery. Amazon still was saying expected delivery date April 4 when I cancelled my order.
