So I just bought a Sony Nex-5n and plan on taking low light shots as well as hopefully experimenting with timelapse photography. Is there a programmable wireless shutter release compatible with the nex-5n?

I was looking at this one from vello...

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/794373-REG/Vello_RWII_S_FreeWave_Plus_Wireless_Remote.html

It says it's compatible with sony alpha cameras but doesn't list the nex series. Is there any possibility it will work with a nex-5n?

Are there any better/other options out there that are known to work with the nex-5n?

Thanks for any help.

It won't work. The receiver is wired (plugs into the camera) and the NEX has no socket for a wired release of any sort.

I'm afraid the only official remote option for the NEX is by using IR.

google 'nex time lapse' and you will find the one item from portugal, called tempus. Or google this site.

good luck now on the internet! learn to search and you will find.

I have mentioned this product many times before Noobs need to learn how to search first before asking repeated questions.

I happen to have one of these and it works well a bit expensive up front

Bymac also has other versions if you look at his site

Some of his youtube videos and hiss products

On the Nex there is 2 years of data here if you use the search button

What I don't understand is why you take the effort to write a reply at all. If you are soooo irritated because of a question, why don't you just ignore it instead of being very impolite at people who ask questions?
