Went out in my Cessna with the NX100 yesterday.

It was just the best weather for flying with a camera! I flew up to the Airbase Museum at Coventry airport (England)

Avro Anson

Percival Prentice

De Haviland Rapide

My streed after being put to bed:

Lucky lucky thanks for sharing .

Thanks for the views and the airplane photos - it's always fun to see some new scenes.

Keep up the good work.

Very nice, the second twin engined aircraft is a De Havilland Dragon, I think, but I'm not sure what the first one is. Have you tried an auto levels on the view of fields which would remove a lot of the water vapour from the image.

Ian, thanks for your comments:

There were 2 very similar aircraft produced by deHaviland.

DH84 Dragon
DH89 (or 89A) Dragon Rapide - but often referred to as the Rapide.

As far as I am aware Airbase only have the Rapides but there are a few Dragons still flying. Without getting the registration (which unfortunately I did not record) it's difficult to determine just from appearance which is which. The main difference is in the Engine power output which was greated for the Rapide. I'm fairly certain however that this is the aircraft:

The first twin - is as described above it - an Avro Anson.

With regard to the use of Auto-Levels, I find that it whilst it does remove a lot of the water vapour effect, left to it's own devices it is overkill and produces an over-saturated effect. The image as you see it has had a fair amount of manual levels adjustment and while I could probably tweak it a bit further it is difficult to maintain a reasonably realistic colour.

Your suggestions however much appreciated.

Does the capture one software you use have distortion correction for all the Samsung lenses?

Thanks Thomas,

I only have the 30mm F2.8 and the 20-50mm kit lens. Both of these it will auto correct by default taking information from the lens. It can be overridden with a slider adjustment.

Note however it will not do this for images converted (or taken and recorded) as DNG format. I can't recall what the situation is with the Express version - not sure if it has Lens Correction. Keystone correction is also featured in the Pro version.

Phase One were doing a 50% discount on all software until yesterday (offer had run for about 2 weeks). It's very expensive if you have to pay full price.
