Yes, we would all like to see the NX20 (and the rest) plus all those nice lenses at their new made in China price. But I think we would all prefer that Samsung get it right. If you are inclined to disagree you might want to pop over to the Fujifilm Forum and see the fun, fury and flying fur over the Fuji X10 'orbs' debacle. This is now clearly a hardware problem that I cannot imagine Fuji fixing at all easily; presumably the sensor chip is welded onto the motherboard. Somehow I think our complaints about massive Raw files and delays are put into perspective.

In the meantime while I am waiting I confess I have been tempted by other systems. Then I just look at the images from my NX10 and 30mm and the mad desire goes away...

I'm impatient with samsung, however nothing compared to the other manufacturers where nothing seems to be going right (IQ wise).

Yes, it does appear that Samsung are deliberately taking their time with the NX20. They want it to probably crush the NEX7, which isn't very hard to do considering how poorly that sensor performs. Given the pricing is a whole lot cheaper too...

The 'orbs' debacle is merely the worst in a long line of bugs in Fuji's initial releases, and yes, Fuji promised to address it with a firmware upgrade, but that so called 'fix' primarily added a few features/changes, and did practically nothing to reduce the orb problem. This comment made by Thom Hogan a couple of days ago is (hopefully) also the reason behind Samsung's delays :
D4 Delivery date. I had heard in an interview with a Nikon executive last week that the D4 delivery date was being moved, but didn't report it at the time (call it a senior moment). I've now heard three different reasons for the delay from three different sources, but I don't think the reason is important. The net is that deliveries will start in mid-March instead of mid-February. Disappointing, yes. But Nikon doesn't make such delays unless they discovered something that is better dealt with before the camera ships. I trust that they're trying to make our initial D4 experiences top grade.

my issue isn't that they're taking this long to release the NX20. my issue is that they were going to release two times, yet continued to push it back.

maybe the rumor sites were wrong, but I don't think they were because I have never had a rumor site get it wrong before with samsung's release dates until the NX20. but first the NX20 was supposed to be announced with the NX200 (by which they already had over a year to make the NX20 because the NX11 was basically the same camera), then it was supposed to be announced at CES, then at Prague, but now it's indefinitely prolonged until may.

the same thing happened with their lenses- when they first showed off the lenses behind display cases wayyy back in 2010, they said they were going to be available for sale by the summer, but a lot of the lenses like the macro, 18-200, etc. didn't come until the end of last year! and mind you this was from samsung's display itself, not a rumor site.

I don't mind waiting. But I do mind a company making promises then perpetually delaying things. it makes them look unreliable, unprofessional, and most importantly either undedicated and or disorganized.

I mean, yes the NX10 and 30mm pancake is a lovely combo. but the NX10's sensor is barely better than the original M4/3 sensor in the G1 and EP1, and every mirrorless system has a nice, affordable pancake now (yes, even Sony. perhaps the 16mm isn't nearly as good, but compared to samsung's 16mm it's only slightly worse, and in any case is just fine for real world pictures).

GIve us all a break! The dates about the NX20 as you said are from rumour sites, not from Samsung. The dates about the lenses were from a meeting or something, not published on their website. So all these are the same: Internal dates. Internal dates get shifted because of problems or competition or wanting to make changes or whatever.

Your comment about Samsung looking 'unreliable, unprofessional, and most importantly either undedicated and or disorganized' is simply inane.

Have you ever developed anything? Have you ever made something? If so you will have found that you often need more time to make something than you anticipated...

Edit: Even if some dates for lenses were on their website, my arguments hold. Delays happen, this is life. Disagreeing with that is just stupid.

I agree. delay happens and I don't care. no offense, but the people that complained a lot about delays and such are not even sure buyers themselves. they would just complain later on that the camera is expensive and they would just wait several months before they would buy the camera at a discounted price or the camera didn't meet their expectations here and there or just skip it and look at the next line of NX cameras in 2013. a lot of alibis and conditions on considering a camera purchase. just look at the NX200 and I had seen a few here who bypassed the camera because of such silliness. I mean, it is not an issue unless if you are really are decided on buying into a system with no immediate pre-excuse of not purchasing a camera system. they might as well give themselves a break and just buy another camera. there is no point complaining if you aren't that dedicated on a purchase.

The NX20 might have been here a whole lot earlier if the NEX7 had not beaten them to the punch. Not needing to make something merely competitive to the NEX7 my guess is that whatever the design it was scrubbed and it was much of "back to the drawing board" to make something even better.

Hopefully the wait will be worth it as Samsung is on record that it wants to dominate the field and they cannot sustain this with just playing second fiddle. The NX10 was a great entry level camera first play, but they need an ace and there is a good chance they are still working on it. But I guess Sony is not standing still either.

Meanwhile the pressure to dominate the EVIL type market must be getting to hot house conditions and if Nikon and Canon (and Pentax) just stand around with their mouths hanging open in astonishment the EVIL type will have some sophisticated gear in play before the majors in the dslr filed climb down from their "nothing will ever replace the mirror box" viewpoint. It's getting to be a damned if they do and damned if they don't scenario. Not happened yet but the rehearsals are sure being run.

Here's hoping the NX20 gets announced this week, and hoping it is great camera!

I think the issue is one of communication. Back in the day, Minolta, Nikon, Olympus all had wonderful user magazines, interaction with User Groups, etc. If I were Samsung, I would communicate with every owner who registered their NX camera on the web site—and an, old-fashioned, printed in-the-mail newsletter wouldn't hurt.

Quite right but woo-hoo - add another $50 to the price for an annual subscription to the publication. I guess most will take the $50 off their next Samsung and just look up the internet whenever.
