The NX 11 (£239) is half the price of a NEX5n (£499) and has a view finder, and is a quarter of the price of an NEX7 (£950), (park cameras). I think the pixel peepers are missing a bargain. And here are some pictures from its earlier version the NX 10, hope you like, Ian. (click twice)

While those are wonderful pictures, you should do yourself a favor and stop playing the "Samsung is an underdog that is being willfully ignored" card.

The conditions above are where there is usually little difference in cameras of similar classes. Head into lower light conditions and then we'll see how well the NX11/100 stacks up against the NEX series.

Not to mention operation, focus peaking, and a host of other operational improvements.

Terrific pictures. The first one really has an atmosphere to it.

I agree. The NX series is not as much of an underdog as it was before... although the low pricing that samsung's able to put it at is making it sell better than it was before.

The difference is not that great in low light with RAW though, and the NX200 here in Australia is cheaper than a NEX5N. If you really want to shoot in low light, go buy a D700 or a 1Dx. APS-C cameras arent as great in low light as Dx0 mark makes them out to be.

Moving on.

The NX200 is great, when shot RAW. As for JPEGs... somehow the jPEG engine cuts down resolution even at base ISO. Its rather comical when I compare JPEGs to RAW for this... no other camera company has such a massive disparity between both.

Terrific pictures ian.

Snake, Samsung is the underdog on sales and on dpr forums, what’s wrong with giving them a bit a positive promotion.

Why are all your post so bitter now, when you first started posting you were much happier and posted pictures yourself. I know you’ve had a few disagreements with some posters but I’d just let it go as water under the bridge.

All the forums would be much nicer places if the post were positive about the cameras in question and made in good humour, instead of people trying to get one over on each other. I’m not getting at you, just wishing you could go back to being more light hearted.

The sun was really blazing in the first picture. Do not forget England is the same lattitude as Newfoundland, even if the clouds were not there there would not be much light. Monet in fact came to paint in London because of the our unparalleled variety of shades of grey. In the UK there is no camera vailable for £239 (equiv to $239) that can do the job that the NX11 does.

The only reason Sony has focus peaking is that Sony do not appear provide many inspiring lenses and users resort to manual use with legacy lenses. I used to use manual focus in ancient times but it was never a good way of doing it which is why autofocus was developed.

The more you know the more you know how little you know.

It is hard to argue at that price I must say
You can certainly overlook any warts

Nice pictures Ian, I like the first one best.

The NX is great valve for money and capable of producing really nice images. The day the NX comes with an articulated screen is the day I will buy one but not before.
RMW487.

Ian, it is always a pleasure to look at your pictures!

And about bargains - it is not only the camera that is great value for money. I am not aware of another system where to buy nice lenses at similar low prices.

Ahhh, conformity. Could you tell me why on earth I’d want to post like you want me to post, rather than how I want to post? You’d like a homogeneous posting atmosphere, eh? To suit your sensitivities over a nameless, faceless corporation? Stop it and stop investing yourself into a brand because you think it somehow describes or reflects you. Leave it up to said corporation to put out the best products they can, without people giving them no incentive to do nothing, as they often see now. It’s more apparent to me that Samsung owners reward apparent mediocrity and this mediocrity is what Samsung strives for, with a clear focus on mediocre toy cameras, where their resources are going, while the higher end cams are still experiments.

Once again, those are nice pics, but there is also the example I’ve brought up before, where Samsung owners here talk “pocketability” of the NX without a lens (you know, because it works great without one). A similar example here is the claim that even at night, pics are very close to the higher end competitors. So far, the dark pics I see are static. Try presenting more examples where one has to drive up the ISO to reduce blur, such as during concerts or sports. It’s very easy to say the NX series is great at night, and I’ve even taken great WB650 pics at 10+ second exposures, mercifully, no movement was in the picture.

And it’s kind of funny about the focus peaking comment about Sony. That’s a dinosaur statement. People want more choices and some people have incredible lenses that are manual. Has nothing to do with their lens selection, since some people are using lenses that cost many times what the AF zeiss 24/1.8 costs, but they happen to be manual. On top of that, the case is very different because they’re tapping into the Leica/streetshooter/manual market and doing extremely well having such features as focus peaking, but apparently, the Samsung boys actually argue against the need for focus peaking in the NX series, when the simple implementation of it can get them a few more customers, each of which Samsung desperately needs to keep those high end cams and lenses going for the people that bought into them already.

Far too many words Mr B. Why when anyone contradicts you do you rant about people trying to change the way you post. It is just a fact of life that if you make statements people have the right to disagree with you.

Yet you read them and was drawn to replying.

“Contradiction”?

Is that your spin?

Snake definitely has a problem communicating with others as evidenced by his hostile personality . He's quick to pounce on anyone declaring satisfaction with their camera and quicker to defend his acid tongue.

If he thinks he is impressing anyone , he is mistaken. he needs his a$$ kicked but good.

that's what happens when you deal with someone who hasn't reached puberty.

Excellent showing. Violence.

Violence is probably the only language that you would understand. It's obvious to anyone who reads your replies that you lack any social skills and your know it all attitude combined with your utter negativity only shows the lack of a decent upbringing. Nice people don't communicate like you do. You had ought to try to show some respect for others and it might be reciprocal but then again , maybe you just don't care?
