Thanks everyone so far.

Just a passing note - there are some nice images so far, but there aren't many that are really exploring possibilities and looking for that extra 'something'. I'd love to see something that has the fwaaah factor.

Anyone who has entered already and feels I'm moving the goal posts feel free to cancel your first submission and enter something else. If you do this, then make sure you draw my attention to the latest upload being the one to judge.

This round certainly isn't about finding your best flower photo and pressing the black and white button in your chosen software. That approach may win - but this is a Challenge, the idea is to raise your game and pull a rabbit out of the hat.

I expect the winning image will stand out from the crowd in some way.

Lots of time left - over to you!

I haven't changed the rules. I've just drawn attention to what I wrote rather than people just read the title of the challenge. Here the all important para from my first post:
Processing will be all important - to see what you can bring to a subject that most people would usually only consider in colour. But flowers have so many other qualities - lets see what you can discover and how you present it.

Supplanting my initial entry "African Daisy" as per jkjond's post above..

b+w via cnx2

Hey jkjond, not really sure if this is closer to or further away from what you're after, but I like it better so I'll take advantage of your second image exemption clause :) Oh, the b+w conversion took longer too, if that helps!
