My first posting here..

They are nice photos but seem a bit soft , not sharp and have large amounts of CA . I like the third one which even with these things is a nice photo. I think the lens will give you better performance without the teleconverter.

Happy to see any new poster here...always interesting trying out the new glass...even if it's old glass, sometimes it's fun seeing what you can come up with...a Sunday birder's thread just got moved from the Olympus forum to the Nature and Wildlife forum if you want to check it out as well.

Nice shots, but have you cropped them much? It looks like these are pretty tight crops, which exaggerates softness and CA. Concentrate on good composition without having to crop too tight.

You have achieved a high level result in your image set! Maybe a touch soft, but not an issue for me, I would be proud of these shots!

Could you outline your choice of manual lens and some more info about the TC?

Thanks for sharing your images.

even though I have been Nikon shooter for a long time.

I recently acquired some manual lens as bird photography is my hobby and I did not want spend a lot on expensive lens. Here are some shots taken with D7K and AIS 400 plus TC16A..
Thank you for looking.
