Hello all,

TWIMC - I'll be out until Sunday PM or Monday AM.

At Ron Jon's Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach, Florida there are several
statues of beach activities. A couple of them are placed so it is
difficult to get decent compositions, but three were ok.

See you all on Monday.

Hello Hugh, I really like the second one, where the trees on the background make it a realistic scene of a game of beach volley.

I also noticed the link didn't point towards the usual shutterfreaks site, so I took a look. First I wasn't shure weather this was your personal site, but one look at the homepage and the gallery names convinced me (early blue, sun, sunrise/sunset). I took a trip true the galleries, all very fine and mostly very recognizeble images. I also saw the face behind the name "Hugh", and some "strange" photos with you playing an alien (the first one is really good). It was good to see you're also very good at shooting things that differ from the wide-angle sunrise/sunset/early blue( wall) pics we normally see from you (don't get me wrong, love to see more of that too).

I also have a question for you: do you ever leave your plaine and hit the road (or the air) for the mountains? If you never did that before (hard to imagin for someone who's in love with them): take a vacation, bring your camera along and visit a place like Yellowstone, Canada, Switzerland, New Zealand or Patagonia!

See you Monday probably

Hugh, some interesting shots. Nicely exposed on the statues - exposure can sometimes be difficult on shots towards the sky.
Very nice,
Richard.

Hello Greg,

Thanks for the comment and the kind words. I'm very pleased you took the time to visit the new, Gallery addition to my web site. I installed it for two reasons. First, Gallery is what we used for our web host Gallery space on http://www.shutterfreaks.com , so I needed the experience of installing it. Second, I think the Gallery presentation is much nicer than the FrontPage presentation.

I do have a couple of mountain pictures. Check out the "Boulder Trip" gallery at http://www.pbase.com/hstockton/colorado . Also, strange that you should mention it, my trip was to South Carolina and the Smoky Mountains. I'll be adding that album to the LightEchos Gallery section as they are processed over the next couple of weeks.
Anyway, glad you enjoyed the pictures, and thanks again.
