Can anyone recommend a simple software program which effectively removes red eye??? Everything I have tried tends to remove any natural color and make them look zombified.
Thanks

I use Photoshop 7 on a Mac. I understand Photoshop Elements is good. Most all programs will require some level of user input to get optimum red eye reduction rather than using the program to automatically do the adjustment. I like to have as much control as posssible, therefore PS7.

Also, remember to reduce the problem of red eye by elevating the flash, if an external one is used.
Hope that helps.

I use the sponge tool in PS 7.0...seems to work well.

You can also just hold your free hand out away from your camera and ask subjects to look at your hand instead of the camera :)

I love the 717, but I find it the worst redeye offender of any camera I've ever used...

Ulead photoimpact has a good red eye removal tool, it turns the red part black and the more you use the tool the more natural the pupil looks

GLP,

I agree. I was suprised that Photoshop doesn't have a red eye removal tool that Microsoft Picture It has. Its a one-click red eye removal that works great and doesn't require any efforts.

I'll second the motion on this one. PSP7 has an excellent,
sophisticated, and easy-to-use red-eye tool that works very well.

And for you pet lovers, it even has an ANIMAL eye adjustment
tool. (Animals get white-eye, not red-eye.)

My PSE2 has something or other for red-eye, but not as good.

PSP7 testimonial: At times, other programs can do it easier
(e.g., PSE text, layers). And once in a while, other programs
can do a little more (e.g., PS commercial color separation tools).
But PSP7 always does the most for the money; and its printing
capabilities make those in PS and PSE look like bad jokes.
