I still do quit a bit of B&W with my old film cameras, I still have 6 working.

In the past year or so since the introduction of the "mirrorless" digital cameras the price of Canon FD lenses have doubled because of people using the excellent FD's with adapters on their mirrorless cameras. I used to find some excellent bargains on items like Canon FD "L" lenses but not more. I wish the digital crowd would just "stay at home" :)

Do you feed your horses oats or hay?

PersonallyI feed mine 89 octane gasolene!

I don't think the people selling those FD lenses are complaining.

Hi Adrian,

I still prefer B&W from film, can't quit get there with a digital, even a mirrorless.

Yes well, I'll take some of that blame there Bill. I have the FD 300 F/2.8L, the FD 500 F/4.5L and the FL-F 500 F/5.6 along with an FD 1.4x TC and they get mounted on the G2 and about to end up on a NEX 7. Sorry about that Bill, but they can't have them back mate :) :)

Thats the only reason I went mirrorless, easy to adapt and no glass in the adaptors, that was crucial. The EVF with the magnification ability and being able to see live bias in effect is a blessing.

All the best Bill, sorry but I had too :)

Danny.

Worry about the image that comes out of the box, rather than the box itself.

Hi Bill

Sorry to hear that the new cameras are not working out so well for you.

A few months ago - despite all I had read - I took the plunga and bought a Sony A77 and also a good lens. To my surprise, in general my photography has taken a huge leap. The dynamic range on it a low ISO is truly amazing. It needs to be used in RAW to get really crisp edges, but I would be evr so surprised if it wouldn't deliver the B&W results you are after.

May be worth a look.

Adrian
