Recieved this printer today and I must say, WOW. The prints are simply stunning, gorgeous, detailed, rich, and unlike my previous printer, the black ink stays nice and lucious. For anyone interested in this printer i would absolutely recommend it, the things is simply incredible, so much so that I felt the need to post this

Could you tell us what OS you're using? I'm particularly interested in finding out

how well it's supported under OS X, and what might me lacking in the OS X drivers vs. OS 9 vs. Windows.

Thanks!

I'm using Win98Se as for printing speed its zippy compared to things I've used before which were some crappy old HPs. Can't say the price as it wasn't me who bought it, quality, tho, is superb

--Do Any "bricks and mortar" stores have it?

I visited Compusa (they had a demo 2200 but a sign that said they were out of stock), Office Max, Best Buy, Staples and Circuit City. None had a 960.

I would like to physically see and look at a Epson 960 before buying.

I have the same issue in Minneapolis. The only place I've found that carries it is a local high end photo store (National Photo and Video) and they don't have any display models yet (they do have several in stock, however). Of course they can be had online, but you don't get to touch and feel it before hand that way.

I had exactly the same reaction you did to the 960. I upgraded from the photo 750, and BOY AM I HAPPY ABOUT IT.

Separate inks, FAST (at least 3x faster in all modes), FANTASTIC shadow detail and lack of pixels. Just amazing.

Eric, I have OS X (10.2.3), and some printing options are missing (roll paper, matte-paper heavyweight, borderless). However you can use OS 9 to achieve that, if 9 exists on your computer. I have not managed to do it, but I am in the process.

Regarding other questions in this topic, I bought it from MacWarehouse that had the best price and shipping combined.
