Not sure if I will get much help here, but figured I'd ask. I bought 2 Sandisk 16gb microSDHC class 4 cards. I can take picture's no problem, but when I try to upload the picture's to my computer nothing happens? I'm using an external card reader. I've never had any problems before, but my highest gig card is a 4gb.

Is your card reader capable of reading SDHC class cards?

All the best,
Jim

Photographers take pictures; the camera is only a tool.

I have a SanDisk ImageMate 5 in 1 reader and I was able to upgrade the firmware in the reader so that it recognizes the SDHC card. The firmware that was in the reader didn't recognize the HC and the upgrade did the trick and it works fine now. I had just bought two 16 GB cards also.

I went to the SanDisk website and found the drivers and downloads section (or something like that). The model number should be on the reader and also a part number. The reader that I have showed a newer firmware was available.

The program that I downloaded worked very nicely and showed the current firmware and what it could be upgraded to. I chose to upgrade and it took 2 or 3 minutes to erase the original firmware and then about a half minute to burn the new firmware. It was very easy.

leave the card in the camera and use the cable provided with the camera to hook up to your confuser and you should be fine. then you can finger owt whut went rong.

If it says "please load disk into drive" or the like, and you can stil review the pictrures in the camera, it's a dead reader. This happened to me just a couple of hours ago.

Time to buy a new one, $1-50

All my others work though?

And yes, it works when I leave it in the camera.

is this the only 16 gig or are the others 16 as well? That may be a limitation.

Perhaps not dead, just incompatible - which amounts to the same thing.

Clearly, the card is OK. If it has never worked in the reader and the others do, it can hardly be anything other than incompatible and, if the reader has been working fine for years, this is even more likely to be the case. It could be that the card is simply too big. I would be surprised if speed was the problem.

I guess the way to ensure yoiu get the latest technology is to get a USB 3 device.
