I just bought an E-PM1 and it works perfectly and the photos themselves have NO pixel issues even at long exposures. But There seems to be a dead pixel on the CMOS sensor? When I change the aspect ratio from say 4:3 to 16:9 the pixel moves but its the same general area on the edge of the picture. So when I change the aspect ratio the pixel doesn't jump around. So is it possible that the CMOS pixel is damaged but the pixel mapping removed it from any pictures but still appearing on LCD? Thank you for any help.

But when I change the aspect ratio the pixel location on the LCD moves. It is not static. Still an LCD issue? Could it be an issue with how the CMOS transmits display info to the LCD? Because I thought problematic pixels were generally the same pixel each time?

well I did many test with jpg and raw and found no issues. So I find it strange that it seems to be a CMOS issue. I cant find anything online about this type of issue. :)

I tried a 60 second shutter and higher iso etc. Then would increase the brighest in cam raw to do a detail inspection and found nothing static that I could see at a close zoom. If the image quality is not effected should I just not worry about it?

Unless some one chimes in that knows more I would not worry much if it does not affect the photos.

To test: use RAW, set Noise Reduction to OFF and see if the hot pixel is there at 100% zoom (with Oly Viewer 2 or other).

Noise reduction by the camera or and/or smoothing by your view program could hide the hot pixel.
