x10 compatability isuue with ef-42

dear all,

i got an ef-42 to use with the x10. when using the combination, i realised this:

if the quick start mode is turned on and you follow the normal way of turning off/on camera and flash ( that is: off flash, off camera. to on, is on camera on flash), then the camera will jam and the flash icon with flash(no pun intended) non stop and just can fire any shots.

this can be solved by turning off the quick start mode, off the camera and then on it again.

anyone with ef-42 and x10 can verify this?

just to add, the 'quick start mode' can be on/off thru the x10 setup menu.

As I don’t have a fuji flash for the x10 as yet, this is good to know surge, thanks for the heads up. Best to you mate.

I bought a X10 with FW 1.02 & EF-42 last week. Could not reproduce this problem.

What happened to me once, was that I didn't have the flash fitted 100% in the shoe. Then strange things happen!

Also, I don't regularly turn off my flash. It shuts off autom. (or standby) when the cam is turned off. Of course, unless I'm sure that I wont take more pics for a while.

I am surprised that ur ef-42 n x10 combo didn't cause same issue. I just got a ef-20 too. I had e same issue w EF- 20. Anyway fuji service center couldn't figure out e issue but already promised to change me a new x10
