Something Different ...

Wonderful! How I wish I was on a beach enjoying this. You've given me the next best thing. Very nice indeed.

Cheers

Some things just dont change.

One of them being your expertise behind the lens.

I have yet to see one of your published images that were not pretty special, and this one does not dissapoint.

I ditched my Fuji 9500 for a Sony A55 et al. about 15 months ago. Mistake? Read on..

Better IQ? Naturally.
Sharper? Yes.
Less noise? Of course.
More flexible? Absolutely.
Better EVF? Difference is amazing.

Better pictures? Same face behind the lens pressing the button, so not really.
More fun? No.

Keep-to-chuck-away-ratio? Far better with the 9500 (at 10fps you take too many NQR's (not quite rights)

More convenient? No way (Try trapsing accross New Zealand with a body and 4 lenses and in the end only ever using the one lens...)

On balance, should have stuck with the Oogie-Woogie, and wated to update to a XS-1 (would have saved a few $$$ as well!). But even though the faithful S9500 is still in the cupboard, the only attention is gets now is a change of batteries every 6 weeks or so.

It just seems to be harder to grab the A55 than it was to grab the Fuji.

Sony does however take better action shots.

Life's like that, isn't it?.

Keep pressing those buttons and I look forward to seeing more of your sensational images.

... Many thanks.

Unfortunately, due to very high winds the past few months, there is little sand left along the beach here. Still, that is usually the case at this time of year and it returns over the next several months.

... Many thanks for your comments.

I know exactly what you mean. I used to lug two bodies and many lenses.

Me ? If my camera is not 'fun' to use, then it gets very little use. That is the main reason I love the S100 fs and also why I really enjoyed the HS10.

I'm keen to see how the HS25/HS30 fare. The HS25 has more appeal for me as it takes AA's.

The dynamic range of this shot is amazing. White clouds, blue sky, orange sun, beautiful shot all around in technique and composition.
