Hi,

I am trying hard to decide wich one of these cameras I should spend my hard earned cash on. I had decided to go for the 601 when I stumbled upon the 603 and now I really don't know at all...

What it really boils down to for me is the still image quality, does the 603 produce as good shoots as the 601? The video is of course very neat but I do not want to buy the camera for that purpose alone.

Second, I want the ability to produce decent night shoots is the 603 up to that?

Does my Dell Ispiron 1Ghz 256 RAM suffice for handling the videos from the 603?

If anyone could help with the pros and cons of these two cameras I would be very grateful.

As for the laptop issue, there could be a problem there.Fuji strongly recomments P4 or athlon XP.My PC has a 1.7 GHz Athlon CPU+256DDR+GeForce2 Ti yet the clips I've downloaded are not completely smooth.

There's lots of info here about the F601.Just do a forums search and you'll probably find what you're looking for.

best of luck

Thanks for the info, sounds like I should go for the 601 for the best still quality. The M603 seems to have dropped in price here in Sweden, in my store they sell it for appr. 600 USD compared to the 900 USD intro price. If only it had the same still quality I would not think twice before getting it.

600 USD for M603 ?!

I just got mine at SGD$825 which is about USD$475... and that is the intro price. (plus 3% GST)

Perhaps you should get one over here in your next trip to Singapore ;)
