They also have great deal on Nikon D5000, I think $300 off as well.

Nelson Photo recently had some gear Pentax in-store. If I recall correctly, there was a WG-1, DA 18-135, a DA35/2.4 and a K-R kit.

There was even a rep there not too long ago--infact it was a few weeks after ArtWalk in Little Italy. ArtWalk is at the end of April this year, maybe you should drop in.

It was an internet pricing error, but they are honoring the price for anyone who ordered on-line. It will be a few weeks before the get more product in stock. The fact that they are honoring the price says a lot about the company. We will see how it all plays out, but it is a really good deal on a K-5.

Ensenada is at its best right now, excellent wine and restaurants. The wine festival is a three week event! And we also have an awesome beer festival around february-march.

The local photography club is also very active, but I'm the only pentaxian right now :)

Wow, not even Amazon does that. They just cancel the orders if there was an price error. If Samys' really delivers at that price, they'll sure have my business someday soon.

I called Samys today to confirm my order and the girl that I spoke to said that they will ship at the $750 price. Way Cool!

Of course, the spending is just beginning. I'll need a grip, and extra batteries, and another (larger) memory card, Etc. There always seems to be 'stuff' one needs when a new camera is purchased.

Samy's is rated 4.8 out of 5 on Amazon.com. I'm on the east coast and I have ordered items from them through Amazon with complete satisfaction.

It looks like a rival must have been stuffing the ballot box on that other site.

I can't help, but think that the price is a mistake, however. If not, people are getting a phenomenal deal.
 
I was able to order one on Wednesday morning - the last one according to the lady. I received a confirmation email showing the $749 price - no sales tax and free shipping. I also received a follow up call from Samy's confirming that I did order and was told I would receive a shipping confirmation with tracking number as soon as its shipped. So here it is Sunday and no shipping confirmation or tracking number. I suspect that its the free shipping - which they quoted at 7 to 10 days and since I am only a Bonzi run away from them, they will ship I figure around next Wednesday for a Friday or Saturday delivery.

Amazon also does this and its the one thing that I actually despise about them. They will hold the item just so that it arrives on the last day. This aspect of their customer service just stinks. If you use the free shipping drop it in the mail rather than hold thing back until the last minute.

Within 5 minutes of my Samy's order, I ordered a 2 year extended warranty from B&H for $19.95. That arrived Friday afternoon in the US mail.

Go figure.

Sammy's is out of stock on the camera, so you may wait a couple of weeks to get it. They are honoring the price which makes it worth the wait. You're saving $300.00.

But according to them when I called to order, I received the last one - in that the stock count went to 0. When they referred to that, I asked if they were going to get any more in and they did not know. They acknowledged the order and price with the confirmation, and then they should just ship it. $300 off is a wonderful price, I believe that $749 will be about as low as a new K5 will go. I waited to the very end for my K20 and it was $650 and they did not really go any lower new - and that was 3 years ago. So, yes indeed the price was good.

Now I just hope that I receive it and it performs as it should - I really do not want to go through the return cycle....

Let's get that resellerratings.com score back up!!! They deserve better.

I received an e-mail notification that mine shipped yesterday (FedEx) and I will have it here next Wednesday.

When I called to check on my order the first time. The guy said it was a pricing error and they would honor the price. He told me up to 3 weeks to get the camera. He said even if I did not want the camera to take it and sell it for a profit as that price was under cost.

I was not going to order a K-5 and keep using my K-7 until the replacement came out, but for $750.00 it was just too hard to refuse. I'll definitely give them a good review and hope they don't fire the poor soul who put the wrong price on the internet.

Now I can sell my K-7 for $400.00 and I'll have $350 invested in a new K-5. It feels like Christmas.
