Hi,

Well I just received my new FZ150 from Crutchfield last night! It is quite a bit smaller and lighter than my FZ30, as expected. I will take some photos today and try to get a 'feel' for it.

Can anyone who has had a FZ150 for a bit, tell me what preliminary settings seem to be working best?

Thank you and Regards, Ken.

Almost every camera I've ever had (and that's not as much as many), I start out with setting aperature priority, the lowest ISO possible, and start seeing how pictures 'display' versus print/show on the PC, and adjust the exposure comp from there. Then I start messing with focus and metering stuff.

Ken, I just got my FZ150, too (BH $419). I had an FZ30. I do wish Panasonic had gone all the way, and provided a more refined electronic viewfinder. I'm wondering just how similar or different the FZ150 EVF is, from the FZ30... I'd say the FZ150 is smaller, but with greater standoff from the camera back. Not sure. Since you have both, how about a bit of comparison? thanks

apparent viewfinder resolution? FZ1 and FZ30 were pretty coarse. FZ150 seems about the same.

Ken:

I just got mine from Crutchfield also. I hope to do some shooting over the weekend.

I would be very interested if somebody could recommend a rubber cover for the EVF. I would think that hard plastic could scrape eyeglasses.

I am going to try to rough up the finger grips on the lens cap. The slick surface is impossible to grip with the sun shade in place.

Enjoy the new toy!!

That eyepiece is prime territory for an accessory manufacturer. Probably have to be molded rubber, with self-stick adhesive.

Someone on here said he's using a 1980s rubber eyecup for a Canon. I considered it last night, but, seemed the eyecup would need cutting, and might not meet my standards.

Panasonic could have a least put on edges for accessory mount, like the old SLRs.

It will damage your glasses, i made a foam cover to protect my glasses, its not pretty, but it works.

I have now removed the foam and replaced it with some black leather type material, have removed the rubber band and replaced with PVC tape, don't have a pic with the PVC tape though.
