There is some kind of magic to the Fuji look. How does Fuji manage to get borrowed sensor technology so right? I guess so many years perfecting film tech has really helped them and they refuse to rest.

For me they are a beautiful example of an established company who continues to innovate like a startup.

This with the "old" X100:

A very nice shot indeed ... obviously Fuji has understood something right about colors. Although I am only shooting in Raw, I am very pleased with the color information from the sensor.

The X100 has made it easy for me to decide to buy the X-Pro1.

I agree, Fuji's produce beautiful images, I also think that Olympus has this down to an art. I am highly anticipating the new x pro 1.

I have pre-order the X1 pro, but I won't get rid of my X100, who is the best APS C 12 mp sensor of the market.

I have done en expo, and It was difficult to tell, wich A2 print (under glass) camer from the Fuji or my 5Dmk2 (with zeiss primes or L lenses).

I love the crop factor at the long end, I hate it in the wide range

Agree about the magic, but the X-Pro1's "random" sensor is a Fuji innovation that may be even "righter."

Yeah, we finally got some real snow in Toronto.

My X-Pro1 is on order at Henrys. :D What about yours?

Keeping my X100 and X10. The X-Pro1 is an addition to them, not a replacement.

I feel that it is premature to decide whether to purchase the X-Pro1. (1) I have not seen any review evaluating the lenses. If the X-Pro1's IQ is of the same quality as X100, this should make the X-Pro1 a "Winner". (2) As has been mentioned in other threads, the X-Pro1 does not have a built in diopter adjustment. While my eyes are not horrible, I am at the age at which I wear bifocals and I do see myself using or adding the supplemental diopter lens. (3) The X-Pro1 looks great.

Bottom line, if IQ is comparable to the X100, the X-Pro1 will be successful camera in the marketplace.

I really like that image. I agree, there is something special about Fuji color I haven't had the pleasure of using since I used an Olympus E-1 with that wonderful 5MP Kodak sensor. I've fallen in love with my X100 for a variety of reasons but among the top is the outstanding color I get in jpg files!

I've sold (or selling) off my micro 4/3 gear as I just don't enjoy shooting with them and spending hours in PP tweaking the photos to get what I get straight out of the camera, as I shot it, with the X100. My Canon G11 is on the block as well and may soon be joined by my Panasonic LX5....in order to move to Fuji and have the color, exposure, etc. consistent with my cameras.

I'll be taking a look at the XS-1, X-10 and down the road (maybe late in the year or 2013) an X Pro series. I'm primarily a prime shooter but do need some reach (> 200mm) occasionally. That's why I'm looking at the XS-1. When I need that reach, it's 95% of the time in good to decent light and at ISO's under 800/1600. That would be a great use for the XS-1.

The X Pro line would, someday, satisfy my lust for more primes :-) But for now, I'm really loving just this 35 f/2.0 Fujinon :-)

Howard,

You have touched on my own biggest fear with the X-Pro1: that I will have a hard time with adding diopter adjustment or that it would be only ok for me (and not others who use my camera). I think many people who value a good viewfinder will also be pretty picky about getting the diopter adjustment perfect, so i am kind of bummed that they just didn't include it.

That other thing about focus speed and lowlight focus purchase are hopefully ok. :-) A marginal improvement over the X100 focus performance would be ok for me. Lens quality looks pretty good on the samples, but we will see - can't imagine that Fuji would mess that up given everything that they have done in the past.

Yes it is about time we got some snow, but that night it was SO cold. I think -15C with a bit of wind, so i was walking around with numb fingers!

I agree about keeping the X100; it's hard to imaging that I wouldn't still want to carry it when i really want to travel light. And the 35mm equivalent will take some time anyway in X-Pro1.

I also pre-ordered from Henry's. I hope they get a shipload (sp) of them! With the X100, I pre-ordered late from both Vistek and Henry's and i got the one from Vistek about 6 weeks sooner. This time i am just banking on Henry's, don't ask me why...
