Thought I'd post a few photos taken just a week after receiving my first DSLR in October 2010. These were shot with either my kit lens, or an old pawn shop Sigma 70-200 manual lens and my Pentax K-x

I live 30 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park, so I am usually in the park at least once a month for camping, hiking, fishing, photography etc..

The weather wasn't too great, so the scenes were a little dark, and I didn't learn about RAW shooting yet, so these were all in .jpg.

Beautiful shots, Colorado! Wish I had taken them. It seems necessary for you to clean the sensor (or the lens?), I see gray round dots in the skies of last 3 shots.
All the best,

Well, I have to say those are some stunning shots! I hope you post some more. It's always great to see such breathtaking scenery and I like the composition and colors on all of them.

Beautiful shots of a beautiful place! The colors seem pretty vibrant, any of these shot as HDR? Thanks sharing, I learned of a new place I can visit in future!

Excellent work, you have a good eye. I would love to have seen #3 with more sky - great shot.

Nice series. I really like 1, 2, 8, and 9.

Images like these can help fight LBA. You seem to be doing just fine with these lenses.

Hi,

I found the composition of the pictures nice.

anyway, FOR ME, the post production is really.. awful. Too much USM, to much contrast and saturation. The pictures really seams some HDR gone wrong. It's only me that finds this post production unacceptable?

Just my 2 cents, don't take offence!

awesome shots, worthy of framing them.

cheers,

Rene

Thanks everyone! These were some of my first DSLR photos, so I've learned a lot over the past year and a half.

Here's a quick pano of the last two photos I just made (took out those sensor dust specks too :))

E, point well taken, but OP did add couple of caveats up front. I think he had some contrast/lighting issues that were difficult to correct, and didn't shoot RAW. Hey, I was just happy to see some pics of the scenery more than anything.
