The WR is only $120 on amazon right now. Is there much of a difference between this lens and the 18-55mm kit lens that came on my K100D?

My old kit lens is starting to show some wear. I've always been pleased with the pics I got off of it. Is the WR version a decent replacement?

The WR version is the same optically as the Mk2 18-55, which was better than the Mk1. I don't know which version came with your original camera but the WR version is at least as good, and better if yours is the Mk1.
The K100D came with the original variant of the 18-55 kit lens. (The Mk2, as you refer to it, is labeled on the badge on the lens barrel and on the ring around the front lens element with a red roman numeral II, while the original variant lacks that marking. The optical design and hence internal construction is also different, of course.)

Thanks guys...sounds like this would be a slight upgrade from what I'm using right now. At $100 it's not a bad deal.

Main improvement is in the corners wide open. Yes, probably worthwhile for the price, especially if you are using a weather sealed body.
