RAW data is but a recipe; photoshop the spices...while the printout is the final meal...and each meal tastes a little different depending on the cook.

absolutely stunnnig pictures ...the house with the forgotten lamp (maybe the resident is an anesthesiologist & gets up early) is my favorite among many breathtaking images

Hi

thanks!

No, this is the funny part of it... I have tried over and over again to get good results when doing night photographing before using film. And sometimes you succeed but very often I ended up with too dark or too light photos. With S2 it was much more easy as I knew the result instantly!

No, noise reduction.. just plain RAW-TIFF-JPG convert.

Absolutely gorgeous. Hmmmm, makes me want to visit and see this place (and maybe try to find a lighthouse on the coast, and maybe...)

Just wondering if the low temperature caused any problems? I've always heard that low temperatures are great for reducing noise, and even though the S2 is amazingly good in this regard, I'm wondering if you think it helped.

Also, did you have any battery problems? Did they give out quickly? I've read where you usually need to bring a few extra sets with you. Again, thank you very much for sharing.

Hi

thanks!

It was very cold, about 10-11 degrees below zero. We were out from 4.30 in the morning and came home at 9.30 - 5 hours. The S2 was treated in the same way as my other gear and lying in my LowePro backpacker.

I had to switch batteries for my first 30 sec exposure and I thought then that my S2 wouldn't stand the cold. However, the batteries that I started with had been used for some time and after change I didn't need to switch at all that morning, this despite the cold and the fact that I took some 25-30 photos with 30 sec exposures. Pretty good!
