Inspired by one of Maartens' works (thanks Maarten ;)), here is a closeup of Lego farmer representing the other side to bugs, spiders, grasshoppers, little plants, LOL ..

Thanks God for Grandchildren, :D

Kind regards,

This past summer my backyard brought in several unusual visitors. These cute little shy bugs called "Buffalo Tree-hopper" made themselves at home on my tomato plants and some plant near by. They sucked the juice out of the plants but since these tomatoes were gifts from my backyard birds I decided to share them with these little creatures. Plus I didn't see any significant damage to the plants around there . Normally 4 or 5 of them just hung around the tomato vine ( their favorite spot ;) ). If I bothered them too much they would jump into the nearby bushes and disappear. Most of the time they were so cooperative and stayed still for my camera . Lucky me :) but once the weather got too cold they were all gone.

I say a closeup of a large subject is still a "closeup". No?

Haven't done any macro work lately, been spending most of my time with birds instead.

I took a morning stroll through the Potrero Hill Community Garden in San Francisco, CA.

Wow Bruno, the colors are fantastic! Yes, thank you for a nice break from all the bugs ;)

Winnie, you always find the cutest bugs but these have got to be the cutest ever! I've never seen them, I will have to grow tomatoes just to attract them! Adorable, and your colors are just perfect.

Very nice colorful shot, the raindrops add a lot to the shot. Nice.

Nice! Orange is a very seasonable color as well.

The background, which I think is just chicken wire, adds a very interesting stained glass looking effect. It's very nice, I like it a lot.

Yes, the background helped tremendously, especially how dark it was relative to the subject. You're right about the chicken wire. Thanks for commenting.

Same Egret we see kayaking here on the east coast. Of course, unlike were you are Yuki, they've all wisely flown south for the winter :) They are fun to watch as they fish, but you have to have a lot of patience....then again, you're a photographer so that goes without saying. Nice shot (and those in the other thread) - thanks for the pleasant reminder of warmer days to come.

That's a nifty li'l photo! Nicely done.
