It just feels so clunky in my hands! No real way to hold it. It looks so nice but I hate trying to shoot with it.

And I just hate the minimum focus distance too. And it's so slow writing to the memory card and then being able to view image takes too long for me.

Just not for me I guess.

Images are very nice though.

Shoot like it's your last day..

Thanks for sharing that with us. I learned a lot from your post and its relevance to anyone but yourself is just... ahmm... well... enormous.

Or, I'm being an ass and missing a huge point here.

It's not stupid; it's advanced.

Have you tried a fast SD card? I just don't feel as you do. Of course you cannot expect DSLR performance but it performs fast enough for me.

Well it is relevant if more people think about the limitations / quirks of a camera like this, and decide if it is really suited to them and will meet their expectations, before they spend their money. It's a great camera - but certainly not for everyone.

I think the slow writing is probably due to the card as well as the slow preview.

class 10 needs to be formated in the camera and then everything works actually pretty fast or at least equally fast like everything else I have.

The minimal focus distance is a problem, even after so many pictures, I stil get surprised by it from time to time when I am just that one inch too close to the subject.

But otherwise even after they year, I still think it is the top performer as a whole package.

But then, if I gave it to someone else to take picture of myself, it is ALWAYS out of focus, so yes, there is something that is not too user friendly.

It is not for everyone. What is? Other than water and oxygen, what is for everyone? Not even sunshine.

I guess I'm suggesting that that posts like these may be more useful with more information, experiences, etc.

Cheers!

Sometimes I think that when some people start threads like this what they may be doing is posting a bit of frustration at the same time they are kind've asking for some help...kind've like "I don't get this camera, what am I missing, can someone point something out to me that I hadn't noticed and maybe I will go back and take another look."

And then again there are for whatever reason, all too many who, for some reason take offense to the fact that they have done so and consider it nothing more than the start of a flame war and then further take it upon themselves to play policeman and degrade the OP for doing what he has done.

Too bad too. DPReview always did have some real good potential. Unfortunately way too much of it has become nothing but a means to vent hatred.

Strange, I use all kinds of cameras and I find everything you are saying about it not to be anything I have experienced. It seems to be a superb machine.

What I would like is a bit more grip and a control system more like the Ricoh GXR.

But beyond all of that I find it a joy to use and found it easy to get passed those two minor issues.

It does not exist.

Mine writes to the card VERY fast. Don't know why you cannot get the same.

I think you should just wait for the x500 or the nex-15 or just stick to with your cell phone cam lol

I'm starting to question your intent in starting these kind of threads in different forums =/

I'm just hoping the new X-pro1 does not have as many issues as the X100.

You called it. You are definitely being an Ass. I am reading this forum because I am trying to decide on my next camera and the x100 is on my list. If all I see are glowing reports, and not the negative also, I will not have the proper information. I do not have the opportunity to try this camera out in person. In the past, I have used these forums to help me decide on what to buy.
